Valerie is an Optometrist and holds a Masters in Public Health degree from the University of Wolverhampton, United Kingdom and a PhD in Community and Population Health at the University of Saskatchewan. She has a demonstrated history of working in communities, higher education institutes, not-for-profit organizations, public, and private sectors. Over the past years, Valerie has conducted research on community eye health, Indigenous health, health service, chronic disease management, health promotion, medical education technology, and mobile health. She presently a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Calgary.
